Tequila and More Show Returns to Toronto, Canada

Attention Baby Boomers in Toronto,

The Tequila and More Spirits and Cocktails Show returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 4-5, 2012

May 4-5, 2012
Metro Toronto Convention Centre
Trade show: May 4, 2pm-4pm
Public show: May 4-5, 4pm-10pm

Tequila and More Spirits and Cocktails Show returns to Toronto for the third time, to kick-start summer at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 4-5, 2012. Canada’s largest Tequila Tasting event will offer thousands of visitors Mexico’s top Tequilas, Mezcales, Sotol, Mexican beer. There will also be authentic Latin food, an opportunity to be educated about Mexican culture, and travel destinations.

For two years we have successfully offered the public, and the trade, the biggest and best tequila show in Canada and the northern U.S. Novices were educated about the worlds of tequila and mezcal, people got to try amazing new cocktails, and aficionados got to taste some heavenly spirits. This show gives visitors the opportunity to taste test some of the best tequilas available without having to spend a fortune on buying bottles and gambling on the chance that they won’t like the taste.

According to the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) - one of the largest buyer of alcohol products in the world, in 2011, 100% agave tequila growth rate increased by 37%. According to CRT tequila export to Canada grew 250% from 2009 to 2011.

In 2011, 7 distillers of mezcal brought their products to the Tequila and More show. Three companies found agents to represent them in Ontario. Three new products that participated in the show had been accepted into LCBO stores. Many restaurants and bars in Ontario are carrying new agave spirits, as a result of the show.

This year we introduce Tequila and More Trade show. On May 4, from 2pm to 4pm we invite food and beverage professionals, liquor agents and distributors, restaurant owners, bartenders, sommeliers, food and beverage managers. This will be the perfect place to introduce your products to the professional audience and establish new connections.

We are pleased to announce that Junior Merino, the Liquid Chef, will be doing his magic mixology presentation with agave spirits on May 4th during the trade and the public shows. Junior Merino is proclaimed the best mixologist on the planet by various publications and is the founder of the fusion of the kitchen and the bar. He has revolutionized the mixology industry with his innovative concepts and unique philosophy. Between his commercial ventures, his partnerships with global corporations, top spirit brands and restaurants around the world, his public appearances and teachings; and his unsolicited press, Junior’s name and brand – The Liquid Chef,Inc. – have been seen by over 66 million people worldwide, making Junior's brand the most recognized in its field.

Unlike other events like food and wine shows that promote product from all over the world, Tequila and More show is focused on MEXICO and agave spirits. People attend the Tequila and More show because they are interested in tequila, mezcal, sotol, and MEXICO.

“This year’s event is promising to be better and bigger, offering visitors some excellent agave spirits and other drinks from Mexico!” said Allan Fryman, organizer of the Tequila and More Show. Come to the Show and experience the unique Mexican atmosphere, music, culture and have a great time with new and old friends celebrating Cinco de Mayo!

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
